Parallax Scrolling with Filled in colour

I want to have parallax scrolling. On some sections I want a plain coloured background rather than an image. I have managed this by making an image to copy in which is a single colour, but I feel that I should be able to do this by selecting an image colour, but when I do this I get the parallax automatically switched off.

Hi,

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood you, but why do you need a Parallax effect for the plain color background? The effect won't be seen as the background is all the same and nothing will be moving. Paralax is available for the image backgrounds only.
