Ask a Question

Hello. Hope you are having a good day. My question is:
How do I add widget zones for Wordpress in Nicepage?
Let´s say I want to create styled templates but with empty widget areas for users. Like a block before the footer with 3-4 widget areas or maybe some other places into any other page template.

Hello, Hella. Nice to salute and hoping you are having a good day.

As i explained earlier: I´ve tried to create Custom Widget Areas/Zones but it only works in Blog and Post pages, not workind at all in Pages... i would love to create pages with pre-established widget areas so people who use my themes can achive the best results in their websites.

I don´t know if you should point it in "Wish List" or just to make a few tweaks and get it to work as you tell.
Please, don´t get me wrong. Nicepage could be one of the best tools for NON code designers, specially great graphic designers wich can came with owesome web design ideas, just don´t have the coding skills to achive it and there´s were your creation "Nicepage" comes into play! I know coding and creating could be a complicate and very time consuming task... but i really encorage you "Nicepage Creators/Coders and other people involve" to give the most control ever into HTML, WP and even Joomla or other CMSs to "non coders" graphic designers and you will achive the most greatful and powerful tool of all! Thanks for your time. :)

Pd: Don´t uprise your licenses and keep it good with the offers so we, the licensed members could recommend it to other "non coders" creators.

Oh... another thing: I´m not really sure if working with the "Affiliate Program" people you are working would be the best for you... I´m sure they know what they are doing and how they manage the access to be a Nicepage Affilliate or Reseller... but... there could be a great and big market on cheap personal licenses for independent graphic designers who would love to have the chance to create the most great and beautifull templates with this owesome tool. Just talk about it and consider it... And let us "like" publish free and paid themes... were free means totally free and paid means a cookie for each one, the creator and you, the creators and promoters of this web design revolution. I´ve use Themler and maybe it works more accurate with WP and Joomla... but Nicepage is several steps forward... just make it to work as we non coder creators need and you´ll be swimming into success! I guess!

:P To much for now? Jaja Well, I´m latin and can´t get it simple, i guess.

Best wishes from me... Have a great day!

Hi,

Widget area is an element of the theme. In order to create a theme with widget areas you should add the desired number of widget areas to Blog and Post templates in Nicepage Desktop.
Nicepage pages are CMS content Pages/Articles.
Both Wordpress and Joomla do not allow the creation of widget areas or module positions inside content. Therefore, once you added Position control on the Nicepage page, you should specify the name of the existing theme widget area/module position. In other words, Position control allows displaying widget/module which is located in one of the widget areas/module positions existing in the theme.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you, Olivia.
This is usefull if I use another pre-design WP Theme wich already have pre-defined widget areas.

But, let´s say i want to use my own WP themes created with Nicepage... How to add this widget areas to specific pages? Let´s say i want a Home page template wich let me pre-define this widget areas so i can only add widgets like in some Magazine Themes that have a Home page template that i can assing as Home and then add the widgets... like for example the one I show you in the attached image?
Can you make a video showing how to?

As you can see, this theme have widget areas for Banner ads, Featured post slider, and some other pre-defined widget areas wich the theme user can just add a widget to show or organize the content as he/she want.

Hi Luis,

Nicepage theme works just like any other theme. So, there is nothing specific for Nicepage theme. If you wave a widget that you want to display on the Home page created in Nicepage you should add position control which will create a widget area for this in Nicepage Desktop on the Post and/or Blog template. These two templates, as well as Header and Footer, create a base of the Nicepage theme.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
