Ask a Question

I've uploaded Nicepage theme and content to Joomla.

The current state of the website can be seen at https://compare-text-files.com/
https://compare-text-files.com/

However the URLs are of the form
https://compare-text-files.com/index.php/ct-menu1-item2
https://compare-text-files.com/index.php/ct-menu1-item4

I had hoped they would have search friendly names such as download.html and contacts.html

What am I doing wrong?

OK, I've partially solved my own problem.

I went to the Joomla menu editor and for each menu item, manually delete the current alias and replaced it with downloads, purchase or contacts.

The original aliases were ct-menu1-item2, ct-menu1-item3 and ct-menu1-item4.

However this is a problem, as everytime I upload new contact to Joomla, I will have a manual task of reediting the menu item aliases.

Is there a better way to do this?

Hi Martin,

Joomla does not allow duplicated aliases and we do not know what aliases are already used. Therefore Nicepage creates aliases which usually are not used. As the result, the problem with duplication aliases will not happen.

If you need different aliases you can easily change them manually in Joomla.

I've just reuploaded the website and changed the menu item aliases. The website's address is

https://compare-text-files.com/

I'm pleased with what Nicepage has produced. Having the fetching and searching for stock icons as integral to the software product greatly speeds things up and allows non-artistic people to get presentable results.

Maybe you could refer the website to your software developers as a software tool which can compare source files is of general use.

Regards
Martin

Quite a shock to find 7000 lines of CSS in your html source. Maybe it's a Joomla thing... i don't have that with HTML export...

Hi Pieter,

Nicepage creates pages (content) which can be used separately from the theme. This is great, but CMS does not have options to create external CSS files for content (articles). Therefore the only option to provide styles for each page is to embed these styles directly in the page source.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
