Contact Form Does Not Send

Ask a Question

I have devoted many hours over many days trying this and that to get your Contact Form to send messages to my Yahoo email address but I cannot figure out why it won't work. This process is extremely difficultt to set up with your program and it doesn't need to be that way. I do not understand html language nor the suggested add-ins or other settings that are being suggested by Yahoo.

Communications with you in the recent past have not resulted in a solution. I don't understand how to make your program "talk" to the Yahoo program. Talking to Yahoo tech support isn't much help either.

I have attached some screen shots for your reference.

What is the easiest way to make this work please?

Larry

Hi, Larry,

We are glad that you have found the workaround. Anyway, we will put our efforts into optimizing our Contact Form and describing its adjustment in a more detailed way.
But the problem is that the email sending is the server-side task. Neither the form nor the script send an email. The form collects data, the script "tells" the server what to do with this data. If your server is configured to send emails everything should work without any additional settings.

Please let us know if you need our further help.

Your last suggestion did not work.
At this point I was finally able to determine that this is not Yahoo's fault. Something is missing for sure in order to use your built-in contact form and have it send to Yahoo, but no one was able to tell me what that is. HTML and the other "submit" methods do not work and are WAY TOO DIFFICULT to figure out for most people.

Rather than have a dedicated "Contact" page on my site using your form I just put a "Contact" button on all of my pages then assigned a URL address to a 3rd party form program that I got for free and it works perfectly. Download here: http://reusableforms.com/d/o5/html5-contact-form-send-email

In closing, I would kindly suggest that Nicepage would create and add to their program and on-line help a better explanation of how contact forms work and that they are EXTREMELY complicated for folks who do not make a living working in HTML or other computer language. I could have saved 30 hours over two weeks if the above program was listed in your recommendations along a little more information on how it works.

Larry Schumacher

Hi, Larry,

The from box can be empty, it is important to fill in the Where to send submissions box. As I see, you have adjusted your Contact Form in Nicepage correctly. It means that something is wrong with the server configuration. Moreover, I see the 404 error when I try to send an email from your page. This error is a server-side error.

You can also try to select URL as a method of sending emails. Please refer to this instruction: https://nicepage.com/doc/66444/send-emails-with-custom-form-action

My Yahoo host just keeps repeating the same thing: "Contact Nicepage". And now Nicepage is telling me to contact Yahoo. So, I'm doing that... again, again and again. Round and round I go! Can't anyone figure this out for me?

Still, I continue to try different things but nothing works.

Tell me this then, if I use your form, which I want to do, and I set it up for PHP (whatever that is), in the box asking "where to send the submissions" I put "contact@schumachergaragedoor.com", which is my Yahoo email address, is that correct? Next, in the "from" box, I do not know what to put there. An email address? I have tried another of my email address "garagedoorman@ca.rr.com", but it doesn't work. Or, does this need to be the URL of my Nicepage "Contact" page? (https://www.schumachergaragedoor.com/Contact.html) This what I have there now.

Hi, Larry,

Unfortunately, we cannot do this as we do not have access to your server. However, you can ask your hosting provider to help you.

Here is the URL for my Contact Page: https://www.schumachergaragedoor.com/Contact.html

Per your instructions: "The PHP script allows sending emails without using external resources. Please note that sending emails is performed on the server-side. Therefore, you need to have a server configured to send emails. The following information contains information about how to configure your server to send emails." As I have said before, I do not understand how to configure the server. Using your examples does not work for me. Can you do this for me?

Thanks again,

Larry
