I have used a Template not having an menu on top to create a new site.

I have now decided to insert a menu bar on top

Hi Mario,

Does you page have a header? If yes, then you need to use Add >> Header and Menu >> Menu control. If there is no Header at all, go to the Page tab in the right panel and disable the Hide Header checkbox.
