I have created a contact form and exported it to HTML. When uploaded the submit button doesn't do anything. https://www.isdconsultants.com/Contact.html

I've tried this on both Chrome and Fire Fox.

I was able to understand how to do this by a response on another ticket from your support team. It was very easy to understand. I wasn't understanding that Nicepage writes the script once I enter the email addresses under PHP and upload the html to the host.
I thought I had to write the script. Thanks for your help.

HI,
I am having this same issue. I have no idea how to have my html website submit a form. I searched all around for the PHP script information and even contacted the web host company. The web host company said I had to write the script myself and upload it to the site. I am so lost. I would have though that the web hosting company would have a specific script for my site. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

The form itself cannot send emails. The Nicepage PHP script cannot send emails too. it only tells the server what to do with the data from the Form. The email is sent by the server. In some cases, the server is already configured to send emails, and you just need to load the Nicepage script. In other cases, you should contact the hosting provider regarding this issue.

To those using GoDaddy hosting, I added a form using the PHP option.
I didn't do anything on the hosting side, and it worked, so it's probably already on by default.

Hi,

Nicepage supports a few submit options for Contact Form:
"Send an email with PHP script" adds Nicepage send email script.
"Contact Form 7" is the option for WordPress,
etc
But in any case, the email sending should be configured on the server as this is a server site task.
If you selected "Send an email with PHP script," simply make sure that your server can send emails. The form should work in this case. We suggest that you contact your hosting provider regarding configuring email sending on the server.

I have been trying many different web design programs since deciding Wix just costs too much (have used Wix since the day it was Flash only). Nicepage looks to be very promising, but it is the only product I have tried that does not make it easy to set up a contact form. I have spent hours trying to figure it out, and finally had some success by using the URL option and Formspree. It now works, but the error messages do not work, and so I need to devote even more time to try to figure this out. This is a major shortcoming to an otherwise great product. My basic question is, if so many other products make it easy, why can't Nicepage?

Hi,

Please check this article:

The code below the

//Show a javascript message about the successful or unsuccessful sending a message

comment. It contains an example of how to show the message about successful submission. This example shows successful email sending. But you can use any statement.

I have to chime in here too ...

I'm at a level where I can write raw .html and .php scripts and have many sites up where I collect form data in the .html file, submit it to my .php script. And things work as expected.

I like NicePage for their ease of design but don't think they should be creating .php scripts. There's just too many variables in the scripting world. If you need to collect data from a .html form, learn PHP so you don't have to rely on NicePage or any other front end development tool.

I started a post about 3 weeks ago when trying out "forms" on NicePage. Initially I thought it was a reCaptcha problem but that turned out not to be the case. That was very frustrating ... even when I went down to using only one input field "name", I kept getting "Unable to send your message. Please fix errors then try again." errors. What could I possibly have done wrong? It was one input field with no special requirements. (I checked that by examining NicePage' .html file. Looked fine to me! I checked to see where their 'error checking routine for the submit button' was and saw nothing in the .html file. Doing some testing, I believe that they must have hijacked the standard submit button and wrapped it in a jQuery error checking routine in the nicepage.js file. If you look at that ... the prospect of figuring out what they are doing is daunting and I don't want to go there. I'm also not sure if they've tinkered with the jquery.js file or if its the real deal.

I submitted a simple PHP file that just echos out that input was received and NicePage project file as couple of days ago asking that they look at it and tell me what I did wrong. I haven't heard back as yet. Once you get the error message mentioned above, there is noting to tell you what the error was ... it refers to fixing errors ... what errors?

I think NicePage should stick to enhancing webpage design and development and not get involved in trying to "protect us from ourselves". If we don't understand or know how to handle .php submissions, we shouldn't expect NicePage to do it for us. I would like them to turn off their error checking routines in nicepage.js and let us deal with them. Or at least give us the option to turn them off. HTML5 itself already has some really nice native form submission error routines.

That being said, has anyone ever gotten past this or found a workaround? .. or ever even been able to do a "submit"?

Could NicePage provide us a project file that shows a simple example of form submission (that works) that we could study?

I'm currently at NicePage 2.12.2

Hi,

Please ask your hosting provider to configure the server to send emails and make sure that PHP installed and properly configured. In this case, you will be able to send emails from the Nicepage Form.

I am following this.

Also i checked with my webhosting provider, and they said I can not have access to "php.ini" or such settings.
I can build forms with Nicepage, but i can not use them at the moment.

Any clues someone?

Hi,

It will be possible to export HTML website with PHP script in upcoming Nicepage v2.8 update.
PHP script will send email on form submit.

The update will be released this week.

Also there is article about server settings:

Perhaps you should have a look at phpfmg.sourceforge.io because if the new release doesn't do all this form and supporting files do then the Nicepage form still won't be good enough.

Nick. Green, absolutely agree with you! Such a disappointment.
What external form creator have you found that works? Please share your experience.
Thanks.

I use //phpfmg.sourceforge.io/ paid to remove the watermark. Create the form and then it uses a PHP file to send the message. You have to do some CSS if you want a fancy format.

Why Nicepage haven't done this sooner I don't know - possibly because they think no one does HTML sites anymore and everyone is using WordPress. If they are using WordPress they are probably not creating themes but using a page builder like Elementor.
