Named Blocks Do Not Appear In Link Dialog

I've given a block a block anchor name, but when I try to assign it to a link or button, it does not appear under the Block menu in the link settings dialog. Here's what I did:

• I clicked on the block, then in the right column, I clicked the Block button
• I then scrolled down to the Block Anchor field and named the block "categoryLinks", without the quotes
• I then clicked on a button I previously created on the same page and clicked the link icon in the blue formatting bar.
• In the link settings dialog, I made sure to select the correct page and the Block Anchor radio button.
• When I click the Select Block menu, the Block Anchor I created does not appear.

Also, there are many blocks on the page, but only 1 appears in the Block menu.

Am I doing something wrong? How do I resolve this?

Hello Rich,

Unfortunately, we cant see the attached image.

Please in step 5 choose the corresponding number of block to which you want to navigate the user, or if your Block have Title there you will see: Block number (title)
The name of the anchor will appear in the link after the user click the button, like: yourwebsite.com#anchorname

You mentioned that there is a lot of blocks on the page, you talking about Block elements right? You can see them on the left column

After that please tell us did the navigation is working correctly.
If not, we will need your Project saved as a project.zip in Nicepage Desktop to investigate the issue.

So the name of the bock anchor isn't supposed to show in the Block pop up list? It would be nice, and more intuitive if users could see or select the name of the anchor they created when defining a link.

Yes, you are right. You can name your blocks according to the Block content for SEO and HTML standards, on the other hand, the anchor name will be seen by the user in the link, so sometimes it needs to be shorter or different. That's why we use Block numbers and Titles, but thanks for your feedback.

Yes and no. Other issues have popped up - like images not appearing after the site is exported/uploaded. But the anchor links seem to be working. In addition to my previous recommendation, it would be nice if users could edit the names of blocks. Using numbers isn't very intuitive. I for one have no idea if numbers are based on the order in which they're created or the order in which they appear on the page - assuming they're numbered from top to bottom and left to right. If this is the case, wouldn't block numbers change if they're re-ordered/moved? If so, that's why user defined names would be helpful - to some anyway.

Please tell us did you used Nicepage pictures or upload pictures from your local folder?
Did you check the links to images do they follow to the right destination?

They were images I uploaded and yes, I checked the links - nothing had changed since the last time I had exported the site. To be certain though, I deleted the images and placed them again, then exported/uploaded. That solved the problem. Nicepage seems to be very "flaky" at times. Problems crop up for seemingly no reason, then disappear after doing nothing at all. Makes me wonder if your developers might have made errors while coding.

I+1 the problem of anchor names not visible in the drop down menu of the link. Only blocks numbers or text but onlly given by title in the block (???).

This is NOT practical at all. It should go flawlessly!
