joomla: page numberuing/navigation at blog page

I have created a blog page inside joomla plugin 3.01.

I now want to add a page navigation at the bottom of the page. insert / element / blog template works only inside the article area, not at footer or a special block:

I can add the element in the article area which makes no sense.

What's the correct way to add this at bottom of the page?

Hi Peter,

You should be able to insert pagination into the empty Block. But please note that it is available for the Blog template only. Pagination is not available for Blog Posts control.

I want a layout with 2 columns.

As recommended I added in the desktop version a grid with 2 columns and let the pagenumbering as it is.

Now 2 columns and 2 rows are shown but no pagenumbering and only 4 instead of 5 articles are shown.

Isn't there a better blog template possible like blog post?

I've asked our developers to check this issue.
at this moment the blog template displays 4 articles instead of two. With 5 and more articles, you should see the pagination.
