From this tutorial, you will learn how to create a Menu with the Nicepage Plugin for WordPress. Please watch the video about the installation of the WordPress Plugin for more information.

The Menu is the main Navigation Element of any website. Usually, the Header has a Menu, which is reachable from all site pages. The Menu can contain links to Pages, Blocks on a Page, URLs, and Files.

Displaying WordPress Menu

After installing and creating a New Page, Nicepage shows the Primary Navigation, set for your website.

  1. Create a new Nicepage Page.
  2. Go to Nicepage -> New Page.
  3. Select the Menu.
  4. Open the Menu Editor
  5. To edit the Menu, click the button in the Context Toolbar or Property Panel, or double-click the Menu.
  6. You see the Menu Items added to the Primary Navigation in WordPress.

Importing Content with Menu

You can also import the Menu from the zip with Content exported from the Nicepage Application. While doing the Export, select the Pages and Editor Plugin option in the Export Dialog.

Then, in the WordPress Administration, install the Plugin and click the Import Content button.

Please also watch the video about exporting and updating of the WordPress Content from the Nicepage Application.

Editing Menu with Plugin

You can edit your Site Menu using the Nicepage WordPress Editor Plugin.

All Menu changes made in the Editor are saved to the Primary Navigation Menu. If you have other pages that use the Menu, then the Menu will also change for them, for example, for the Theme Pages like Blog and Search Results.

  1. Switch to the browser tab with the Editor.
  2. Select the Menu in the Header.
  3. Open the Menu Editor.
  4. Add a New Menu Item.
  5. Select the Page in the dialog.
  6. Move your New Item up.
  7. Click Done.
  8. Publish the Page.
  9. Preview the Page by clicking WordPress -> Visit Site. You see, the Menu has changed.
  10. Open the Blog Page.
  11. The Menu has also changed.

Moving Items in the Menu Editor, you modify the Order of the Menu Items. However, by editing Labels of the Menu Items with the WordPress Plugin, you do not change the actual name of your Pages.
