I don't want to use the Joomla version because it is very confusing and extremely difficult to use.
Since nicepage has no interest in being able to save the pages as *.php and I still don't want to leave, I built a workaround that works great and easily for me.
I incorporate the PHP snippet with placeholders e.g. AAAphp ...einScript... BBB as a block. Then I built my own update script that copied the *.html as *.php and converted the placeholders into <?php ...einscript...?> and various other things. I call this when the pages are uploaded.
I don't upload the startpage.html, but have created an index.php in which I include the startpage.php.
