Ask a Question

Hello.

Thank you for this great piece of software.

Sometimes I work on a website on my desktop, but sometimes I need to work on the same project on my laptop. I know the license allows for this, but my question relates to how to access the same project from both devices. I know about the export and import feature, but this requires planning and being able to transfer the exported files from one machine to the other and back again.

Often I find I will have some time when I'm not home and I have my laptop and I want to work on the project but I didn't do the export. Is there another way to work on the website and the changes would be reflected correctly when I get home later? Some sort of sync option perhaps?

Thank you.

Hi,

You can use Nicepage Online on which all Projects are saved on our server. If you have a site on the Online app, you can access it from any device without exporting and importing. Have you tried to use Nicepage Online?

Hello,

I have seen it yes. Thank you for that option. Is there a solution which uses the desktop application instead of the online app? I have found the desktop application more stable.

Thank you.

Hi, Joseph,

All Desktop Projects are saved locally, and the Desktop app installed on different computers is not synchronized. So far, you can only manually export Projects from one computer and import them on another. We hope this process will be optimized in the future.

Let us know if you need our further help!

Thank you for this explaination.

If I saved the project locally to a mapped drive or folder (such as OneDrive) which shows up as a regular folder and drive on both the computer and the laptop, could the project be synchronized that way?

Hi, Joseph,

Yes, you can try to do this, but it is better to keep Projects on a physical hard drive as clouds are less stable and their work usually fully depends on the Internet connection. If you are going to do it, we recommend backing up the Project folder before moving it to a cloud and changing the Project folder in Preferences.

Let us know if you need our further help!

I will give it a try to see how stable it is. You mentioned the project folder in Preferences. If I change the location within the application, does the software move all the documents to the new location? Or do you recommend I create the new destination folder, move all the contents of the existing preferences folder to the new folder, and the start the Nicepage application and change the preferences to point to the new location? Or a different method.

Thank you so much.

Hi,

After changing the Project folder in the app preferences, all Projects should move automatically to a new folder.

Or do you recommend I create the new destination folder, move all the contents of the existing preferences folder to the new folder, and the start the Nicepage application and change the preferences to point to the new location?

Yes, it can be done as well.

If you have any issues or difficulties, do not hesitate to contact us!
